FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

A: We plow roads to the shacks so you can drive your personal vehicle to your rental shack.

A: Yes Dogs are allowed in the Ice Fishing shacks but there is a $40 pet fee due to extra cleaning (pet hair) Dogs are not allowed on the boat for summer Fishing Charters.

A: Pike, Walleye, Perch, Whitefish, Burbot

A: Per person you can keep: 5 Perch, 3 Whitefish, 1 Walleye between 45cm-50cm, 0 Pike, 2 Burbot, Burbot is catch and release from February 1st to March 31st.

A: Gull Lake is centrally located in Alberta 20 minutes NW of Red Deer. 1.5 hours South of Edmonton, 1.5 Hours North of Calgary.

A: yes anyone between the age of 16 and 65 must possess a valid Alberta fishing license

A: We take Ice safety very seriously, we drill and test the ice daily on our roads as well as at the shacks. If at any point in time we feel the ice is not safe we will not let clients on the ice and you will receive a credit for a later (available) date of your choice.  

A: There are not guides provided with a rental. A GLFC representative will lead you to the shack, help you check in and give you a run through of how everything works and then you and your group are alone at the shack.

A: There is a designated outhouse with each rental unit?

A: There are garbage and recycling bins located on a trailer close to the Ice Fishing shacks.

A: You are expected to clean your shack up and remove garbage and recycling prior to leaving in the morning. If excessive cleaning is needed extra charges may apply.

A: 4 Rods, tackle, fish camera and one tub of minnows are provided with each rental.

A: You can leave anytime in the morning prior to 10:30 checkout without inspection by GLFC. Please ensure that you have cleaned up after your group and garbage and recycling has be taken to the provided bins located outside on a trailer.

A: An outdoor BBQ and indoor stove top is provided with each rental.

A: Each rental comes with a Fish camera paired with flat screen TV.

A: Unfortunately, late check outs are not available at anytime.

A: Each rental shack is equipped with a fully vented Propane RV furnace. (Propane is supplied)

A: Directions are on the website and you will also receive a reminder and directions one day prior to your booking.

A: We take a maximum of 4 guests per guided boat fishing trip

A: Fires must be contained by a fire pit (not provided) and be a minimum of 40 feet from the rental shacks or plowed roads and plowed parking areas. No Fires are permitted directly on the ice. All soot, ashes etc. must be hauled away and not left on the ice. Ash may not be put into the garbage bin. We do not provide fire pits.

A: We provide a 2 week cancellation policy. Guests who cancel at least 2 weeks prior to their check-in date will receive a booking credit for a later (available) date of their choice for a equal or lessor amount. Cancellations received less than 2 weeks prior will not receive a refund or credit. If we (GLFC) must cancel or postpone your trip due to unsafe ice or extreme weather conditions you will receive a credit to use at a later date. We do not offer refunds, only in-house credits will be issued.
